Job SummaryThis position is responsible for providing direct patient care under the supervision of a medical provider and Registered Nurse (RN) in the clinic setting. Under the direction and supervision of the provider and RN the clinic LPN will carry out any duties delegated and requested by the midlevel provider which does not exceed the scope of their practice and licensure by the state. This position may require providing services to one or more age populations including neonate through geriatric in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served.
- Graduate of a LPN School of Nursing
- Excellent written and verbal communcation skills
- Previous clinic experience
Must have the ability to express thoughts in clear and concise terms both verbal and written.
Must have the ability to adapt and prioritize during high volume periods.
Must have the ability and dexterity to operate all equipment in a safe and effective manner.
Must be interested in self-motivation and self-improvement.
Must be interested in all aspects of providing primary care and / or surgical services.
Must be interested in clinical and financial aspects of performance in a medical office setting.
Must be able to use tact courtesy and diplomacy when dealing with employees supervisors doctors patients insurance companies and the general public.
Must have the ability to work with a variety of patients of all populations (e.g. developmentally appropriate care cultural diversity patients with pain victims of abuse or neglect and diagnosis or procedure specific such as patient with congestive heart failure or cesarean delivery).
License/Certifications/Special Requirements: Possesses a current Illinois LPN license and / or any other LPN state license that employee is required to work.
Pay Status: NON-EXEMPT HOURLY
JOB KNOWLEDGE: Must have knowledge of the following: current clinical practices commonly implemented by the family practice nurse; medical terminology; Service Organization and office policies and procedures; all technical equipment used; use of personal protective equipment in compliance with DCD and OSHA guidelines; rules and regulations concerning child abuse reporting and guardianship. The patient population must be considered when assessing job knowledge required from the employee.
