Position Summary:
Fraud Analyst’s review and respond to suspected fraudulent service requests, queues, and transaction records to identify potentially fraudulent transactions or accounts. Identifying problems and issues by performing relevant research using the appropriate tools and by following established procedures. Utilizing custom and standard software programs and applications as well as manual review to analyze transactional and customer records for fraud.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Fraud Analyst’s are knowledgeable in multiple functions of fraud operations and will work independently day to day with little guidance from mentors on the team or Management.
Counsel, influence and support Senior Analyst’s and Team Leads with operational decisions using a combination of SME knowledge and analyzed data gathering.
Basic daily functions include working the Detection Queue in our Payment Monitoring System (85%). Alerts are generated and worked at a rapid pace requiring quick decision making, attention to detail, and consistent results with sound decisions.
Plan, organize and orchestrate mentor programs and ongoing training for the team.
Author, Co-author or review process documents that translate complex information into easily understood and simple to follow instructions used by the team.
Inform Management with articulate, organized write ups for a wide array of situations including: newly discovered trends, post mortem reviews, time sensitive and financial risk issues.
Educate and advocate Fraud Operations position to stakeholders of various levels as well as partners and customers.
Establish, introduce and implement process improvements.
Build and foster relationships across departments and at various levels to champion ideas and unify support.
Plan, coordinate and execute special projects and field project support for Management with minimal supervision and assistance when needed.
Categorize, distribute and enforce time effectively to deliver a higher quality and quantity of decisions and tasks.
There is an aspect of account maintenance, customer service and assistance, and reporting/tracking involved in the successful performance of this role. Basic KPI’s and SLA’s must be met on a regular and consistent basis.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience;
3+ years in financial/payment services industry or equivalent experience;
Intermediate Computer Skills in Applications including, but not limited to, Microsoft Suite, Excel, ppt., Salesforce.
Ability to work independently.
Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years in financial/payment services industry or equivalent experience;
Prior Fraud/Claims Experience;
WEX product knowledge.
The base pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as your qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Base pay is one component of WEX’s total compensation package. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable plan. Non-sales roles are typically eligible for a quarterly or annual bonus based on their role and applicable plan.
