General Summary

The Academic Advisor and Coordinator of Student Success and Engagement is responsible for the academic advisement of current and prospective nursing students. The role is responsible for the selection of course schedules identifying strategies to support student success and assists with the coordination of various college events and recruitment activities. This role includes administrative leadership and management of student success and retention for the college. This includes a comprehensive student program collaborating with nursing faculty to monitor ATI testing and remediation and track student progress and refer to appropriate support services internal and external to the college. The coordinator works collaboratively with the Associate Deans Assistant Dean Program Directors Clinical Experience Coordinator and faculty to support the student experience.

Required Qualifications

1. Master’s degree in Organization Leadership in Higher Education
2. 3 or more years of Academic Advising at the Higher Education level.
3. Excellent time management skills attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
4. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
5. Experience in working with students faculty and departmental staff and campus
administrators.
6. Ability to work in a team environment and work independently.
7. Demonstrated knowledge of academic advising procedures general education
requirements major course sequencing avenues for referral and college policies.
8. Ability to work effectively with diverse student population with a proven commitment to
diversity and student development.
9. Capacity to work occasional non-traditional hours.
10. Experience with nursing licensure exam processes and testing support.

Work Hours

Office setting. The core work hours of this position are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Friday. Position occasionally requires work beyond regular office hours.

Functional Expectations

Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation:
1. Remain at a workstation for extended periods
2. Move about in various locations on and off campus as needed to complete day-to-day work
3. Effectively communicate on a daily basis
