Overview:
POSITION SUMMARY: The Student Financial Aid Assistant works with the College of Nursing (CON) and participates in planning developing and implementing policies and procedures for processing student financial assistance programs which comply with federal state and institutional requirements. This position counsels and advises students and parents regarding financial aid process federal state institutional and private financial aid options including student loans works with students and/or parents by processing financial aid requests applications and other sensitive documents to determine student eligibility for financial assistance and prepares documentation for institutional/governmental agencies

Starting pay for this position is $17.85/hour; base pay offered may increase based on experience skills and internal equity.

Qualifications:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Associates Business Accounting or related field
- Experience: 6 month experience in an Accounting/Financial position.
Other skills/knowledge:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Solid computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft software.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to be detail oriented.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Accounting or related field
- Experience: 6 months or more of direct Financial Aid experience
- Other requirements/information: Working knowledge of general bookkeeping principles in order to prepare required reports and maintain Student Financial Aid records.
