Description
Renewables Senior Structural Engineer
POWER Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer for our Renewables Business Unit. This position is available to work remotely from a mutually agreed upon location.
Responsibilities:
Structural steel, reinforced concrete, pre-cast concrete, and reinforced masonry analysis and engineering for substations, distribution collector systems, BESS projects, PV Solar, Wind and other renewable type projects
Structural design including permitting support, preparation of structural drawings and calculations for the steel and foundation design
Technical knowledge of building codes and material specifications
Preparation of calculation packages to satisfy client and jurisdictional requirements.
Development of structural construction specifications, cost estimates, engineering proposals, and project schedules
Mentor less experienced staff in renewables project execution and design
Managing project scope, schedule, budget, and quality of assigned project deliverables
Contribute to the Knowledge Management Program, including but not limited to knowledge documentation, formalized technical training, peer-to-peer mentorship, and/or contributing to industry events and conferences.
Coordination with associated department/project managers regarding workload planning, peer feedback, and client engagement.
Project leadership responsibilities will be opportunistically available to successful and capable candidates
Contribute to POWER’s culture by encouraging growth, facilitating team engagement, and fostering areas of improvement where needed
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, individually and as part of a project team
Grow and manage relationships with renewables clients
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Occasional travel will be required
Required Education/Experience:
BSCE (Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering) degree, from an accredited university
10 years of experience in structural analysis, concrete design, steel design, soil mechanics, and foundation design
Ability to perform calculation to size steel members, concrete foundations, and driven/drilled piles.
3D RISA or STAAD structural analysis design software experience
L-Pile foundation analysis software experience
PE/SE Licensed
The candidate must have a strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel
Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. with the need for work sponsorship
Desired Education/Experience:
MS Degree in Structural Engineering
Knowledge and/or ability to learn 3D modeling software
Geotechnical engineering experience
Seismic Analysis and Design
