What we look for in this role
In this role, you will…
We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join the company’s Corporate Accounting team and support the company’s rapid growth. You will assist the team by improving controls and processes to meet our operational and reporting requirements that will help scale and shape our business. This position will work on a number of accounting functions, including but not limited to, processing corporate AP transactions, preparing monthly journal entries and participating in the month-end close process.
What you’ll do
Manage the corporate AP function, which includes:Onboarding new corporate vendors
Adding and maintaining vendor records in NetSuite
Processing vendor bills
Process employee expense reports
Process corporate credit card activity
Communicate regularly with corporate vendors to resolve any issues
Support preparation of annual vendor form 1099s
Support other day to day GL functions, such as cash, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, etc.
Prepare journal entries and monthly reconciliations
Perform month end close to ensure accurate and timely financial information is available
Collaborate cross functionally
Document accounting policies capable of meeting annual audit requirements
Assist with the year-end audit and regulatory filings
Ad-hoc reporting and projects as assigned
What we are looking for
Bachelor’s degree (Finance or Accounting preferred)
1-2 years of accounting experience
Ability to work both independently and within a collaborative team environment
Excellent interpersonal skills
Strong analytical, teamwork and organizational skills
Positive, enthusiastic energy with a desire to learn
Understanding of GAAP
Private industry or Big 4 experience is a plus
Microsoft Excel experience is required
Experience with NetSuite preferred
CPA license (or interest in pursuing CPA license) preferred
1-2 years accounting experience (private industry or Big 4 a plus)
Location
You must be authorized to work in the United States. Although we are fully remote at this time, we would like to hire this person in a geographic area / time zone in close proximity to other teammates (Chicago, IL, and Denver, CO are prioritized locations for this position).
