Transportation Supply Chain Specialist

As a Supply Chain Specialist, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
Participating in an analytical, team-oriented environment, focusing on continuous improvement in 3M’s International Transportation Operations, ready to lead programs designed to increase value to 3M’s customers
Managing activity within the U.S. Third Party Logistic Air and Ocean Provider network and maintaining Carrier relationships/contracts to troubleshoot challenges and identify solutions to support operational efficiencies
Leading Quarterly business reviews and driving core KPI’s with U.S. Third Party Logistic Air and Ocean Providers
Supporting U.S. and Regional 3M Subsidiaries to identify optimal transportation networks to meet their customer’s needs for U.S. Air and Ocean Exports
Consulting on supply chain-related processes to develop adequate contingency plans and long-term sustainable solutions to enhance U.S. Air and Ocean exports in collaboration with ICO, GCS, Trade Compliance, Divisions, Plants and DC’s, 3PL partners, etc.
Prioritizing critical tasks, executing complex solutions, and identifying and leading impactful projects utilizing Supply Chain tools, Lean Six Sigma methodologies and processes to make data-driven decisions resulting in improvements to cost and service initiatives
Working in collaboration with Global Sourcing and Transportation to support Worldwide RFPs/BIDs and implementing optimal Carriers on high-volume export lanes
Working in collaboration with Global Sourcing and Transportation to implement the Infor Nexus online platform, with the objective of improving Carrier booking reliability, enhancing supply chain shipment tracking capabilities and predictive analytic techniques
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
Ten (10) combined years of experience in Supply Chain, Transportation and/or Logistics in a private, public, government, or military environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Logistics or Supply Chain Management
Previous experience working in export/import operations
Previous experience working with Ocean Carriers / NVOCC’s
Previous experience with Global or Regional BIDS, RFP’s and/or Contractual negotiations
Ten (10) years in Supply Chain, Transportation and/or Logistics in a private, public, government or military environment
Experience in, or understanding of SAP, Microsoft Office applications, Air and Ocean Carrier tracking tools/websites, Infor Nexus, IOMS, COMS, FCS, GGSM and Reporting & Analytics portal
Experience in problem solving, troubleshooting, working with process analysis and improvement, and project management is desired
Excellent written & oral communication skills, presentation skills, and interpersonal skills including the ability to influence others and work effectively in a team environment
Travel: May include up to 10% domestic/international
Location: Remote U.S.
